The Town of Holderness, New Hampshire
                                Veteran's Memorial Committee Minutes January 11, 2007

Thursday, Jan. 11 th , 2007 6:30 PM Town Office 19th meeting

In attendance: Harry Decker, Pat Ford, Ed Ford, Tom Thompson, Sandy Ray Call to order: 6:35 PM
Minutes of the Dec. 14th, 2006 meeting: Pat Ford moved, Ed Ford seconded and the vote was unanimous (5-0 in favor) of accepting the minutes as presented.

Harry Decker reported that the current septic system at the library has been deemed adequate to accommodate the needs of the library expansion. Sandy Ray reported that Bruce Barnard has been engaged by the library to obtain the necessary permits from the state that will confirm the present septic system. Ed Ford requested that Mr. Barnard be asked what an acceptable distance is, in relation to the septic system, for the placement of the proposed monument.

Ed Ford reported that the temporary honor roll contains errors. Eric West and Woodrow Smith were both listed twice. In addition, Joseph M Hayes also was listed as Michael J. Hayes. Ed requested that the Michael J. Hayes listing be covered with white tape. For consistency, it was decided that the other two extra listings should be covered as well. Tom Thompson volunteered to take care of that.

Harry Decker reported that the Selectboard will be adding a request for additional funds for the monument on the March town warrant.

Harry Decker commented about the extensive assistance in creating the temporary honor roll base that was provided by Skip Van Sickle. A thank you will be sent out to him on behalf of the committee. The cost of the temporary honor roll is approximately $363.00.

A question arose about the existence of exact dimensions of the library lot and the proposed addition. If they exist, Sandy Ray will bring them to the next meeting.

Next meeting: Feb. 15th, 2007, 6:30 at the Town Office. Adjourned: 7:10 PM
