MEMORIAL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Thursday, Aug. 31 St, 2006 6:30 PM Holderness Town Hall 15"' Meeting In attendance: Pat Ford, Ed Ford, Russ Moren, Harry Decker, Sandy Ray Meeting came to order at 6:40
Ed Ford moved, Pat Ford seconded, and the vote was unanimous (5-0 in favor) of accepting the minutes of the July 27thmeeting as presented.

Harry Decker reported for Tom Thompson the results of a conversation with local site work contractor, Bob Guyotte. Bob suggested that the sandy makeup of the soil on the library site will require sheathing to be installed to hold the banking in place as the construction proceeds. The cost for that was estimated at four to five thousand dollars. It was Bob's opinion that the proximity of the proposed memorial site to the new addition during the construction process would definitely place the memorial at risk for damage.

Tom hopes to talk to Adrienne Robie about this same subject and have a report for the next meeting of this committee. Harry Decker also plans to have a report on this subject for the next meeting.

Discussion of fundraising will be included in the next meeting agenda.

Due to health issues since the July meeting, there has been no real progress on the part of the Grange pertaining to the name project.

Harry Decker presented some photos of and a report about the Enfield, NH Veterans' memorial. Mr. Henry Cross, who spearheaded the Enfield project, is very willing to come to one of this committee's meetings to acquaint the members with the process Enfield went through to get their monument. He has particular insights into the fundraising aspect of the project which this committee feels could be very helpful. It was decided to invite him to the Oct. meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 28th, 2006 at the town hall at 6:30 PM.
Ed Ford moved, Russ Moren seconded and the vote was unanimous (5-0 in favor) of adjourning the meeting at approximately 7:20 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandy Ray
