MEMORIAL COMMITTEE MINUTES

Thursday, July 27, 2006 6:30 p.m.
Holderness Town Hall
14th Meeting

In attendance: Ed Ford, Tom Thompson, Harry Decker, Barbara Currier, Sandy Ray, non-resident Kim Gould

Ed Ford reported significant response from the media notices and the letter to Holderness residents.  He estimated a least another three months to porcess the names generated by the media/letter campaingn.  The final total of eligible names to be included on the monument is expected to remain around 400.

Barbara Currier moved, Ed Ford seconded and the vote was unanimous, (5-0 in favor) to accept the minutes of the June 1st meeting as prepared.

harry Decker presented a set of computer generated images prepared by Rich Holt of Pinnacle Hill Designs for the library board of trustees.  These images included the proposed monument situated at the location on the library grounds thought by the board and Mr. Holdt to work best with the proposed library expansion.  Two hand drawn images prepared by Dave Driscoll of Dave Driscoll Designs as a courtesty to the Memorial Committee were also presented.  Drawn on see-through paper, they offered two alternate designs for the positioning of the new monument stones and are designed to be viewed as overlays on top ot the proposed library building plans.

After using the overlay dawings to position the new monument stones in the location of the present WWI stone/bronze plaque monument, the committee members expressed concern about the closeness of that location relative to the proposed library addition.

Harry Decker and Tom Thompson agreed to consult with contractors they know about the potential impact of that location relative to the proposed library addition construction process.

The next meeting is scheduled for August 31, 2006, 6:30 p.m.
