  • Permits and other matters (mailbox check)—email contact via Betsy Whitmore.
  • Up Coming Meetings and courses.
  • Landscaping at the Water’s Edge, Keene State, 8th and 15th of October.
  • NH Association of Conservation Commissions, 1 November 2008—Mention was made that Larry would submit an article to NHACC about this meeting.
  • NH Watershed Meeting—8 November 2008, Concord, Grapone Center
  • Old Business
  • September Joint Meeting—Larry-There were 12 individuals in attendance, Plymouth, Thornton, Ashland, Hebron and Alexandria.
  • Summer CSPA meeting—Shelia—Successful workshop. Letter sent to Thomas Burrack thanking DES for the support.
  • Town Energy Committee Meeting-Larry. We had one meeting this summer. Bids are now being let for improvements in town facilities.
  • Intents to cut—Anne has followed up on some of the intents to cut. Of particular interest was one at the Snowy Owl property. Materials will be hauled out without having to cross Owl Brook.
  • New Business
  • Schedule of Fall 2008 meetings and mailbox schedule—Amongst the three of us it was agreed that the late afternoon, on the 3rd Tuesday at 4 PM.
  • Discussion about conservation easement for town property on White Oak Pond—Barbara mentioned the possibility of a tax payment acquisition.
  • Question—Should we allow town folk access to conservation properties to cut firewood? The response amongst the three of us was no, mostly because of the liability issues.
  • Other Business
  • Lease arrangement for Bobby Melanson field—We discussed this issue about accomplishing two goals at one time; providing additional space for the Central School playing fields and access to Perch Pond Road and thence to the lower edge of the Town Forest. Larry will put together maps and Shelagh will schedule a meeting with the folks at the Central School. It was thought that a lease might work better than a purchase or a right of access agreement.
