Regular Meeting - Call to Order
Mr. Spencer called the meeting to order at 4:15 P.M. Due to the lack of a quorum, no decisions will be made.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes of 05/11/10 will be approved at the September meeting.
Permits & Other Correspondence:
Notification of approval of permits for Zahr and Conkling were received. The Commission’s concerns regarding the Zahr dock appear to have been incorporated in the approval conditions.
Old Business
Bucks violation: DES inspected the property and determined that wetlands had not been filled. They did provide a mediation list for several items so the Bucks will be in full compliance with regulations.
DVD – arsenic in water supplies was given to Ms. Jewell who will pass it on to Ms. Packard.
New Business
Master Plan Review: The recommendations in the chapter appear to be current and it was agreed that nothing further needs to be revised at this point.
Donation Requests: Decisions will be made in September.
Report on metals in Loon eggs: Mr. Spencer gave a report of his conversation with Harry Vogel, Loon Preservation Fund, regarding a preliminary report showing higher levels of metals in loon eggs which may be a contributing cause of the decline in the loon population.
Town Maps: Discussion was postponed until September.
BioBlitz: Ms. Packard gave a brief report of the overall event, which had a low participation turn-out. She noted some specifics regarding her participation.
Other Business
Town Energy Committee: Mr. Spencer provided an update on activity being accomplished by the committee. There is a statewide energy conference on June 19 at the Grappone Center in Manchester.
Transition Towns: Mr. Spencer explained the concept of transition towns – towns taking action to become more sustainable in many areas, including energy and food.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 4:47 P.M.
