Meeting Minutes
In Attendance
Library Trustees: Carol Snelling, Kathy Wieliczko, Kay Hanson, Amanda Loud, Larry Webster
Library Director: Victoria Lang
The minutes for the May 10 meeting were amended and approved. It was noted that there has been no functioning hot water heater in the library to anyone’s recent memory.
Budget Report
The money in the custodial budget line was enough for the 12 month budget but not for the new 18 month budget. This may have been an oversight when the 18 month budget was originally submitted. Custodial issues were discussed.
Library Director’s Report
The library invested $100 in a mutual fund in December of 1997. It was decided to cash it in. Thus a check for approximately $134 is being put toward the library’s account.
The minutes of a past Holderness Board of Selectmen’s meeting report a good working relationship between Wendy Huff, town accountant and the library. Skip Thompson will be working on the library grounds, maintaining the lawn, etc.
The NH Library Trustee Association dues for the current trustee board have been paid.
There will be a reception on July 10 at 7:00 PM for artists Kathleen Roos and Marcia Santore. Their art is on display in the library for the summer.
Victoria raked out back to prepare for the arrival of the new lawn furniture. The “Library Grotto” will feature picnic tables and Adirondack chairs that have been donated by the Library Friends.
The new children’s room book shelving has arrived. Lydia and Victoria have been arranging the books into the new shelving.
Kim MacDonald has finished painting the front foyer.
The old hot water heater has been deemed antiquated and dangerous by both an electrician and a plumber. A new on demand hot water heater will be purchased and installed.
Trustee Chairperson Report
Town Compliance Officer, David Lorch has asked if he could put brochures and a display in the library informing the public of the towns zoning regulations and specifications for set backs etc. The trustees agreed to this.
The trustees will establish a new meeting date with Susan Murphy. Tuesday June 24 at 4:00 PM is the hoped for meeting time.
General Library Policies
The general library policy document was perused. Suggestions for clarifications and updates were made for the first section. Victoria will compile a document from these suggestions. We will come back to this at the next trustee meeting.
Other Business
The library trustees would like to meet jointly with the Library Building Team. The trustees want to move forward with a plan to present to the Town.
Next Meeting Date
The next Holderness Library Board of Trustees Meeting will be at 4:00 PM, on July 15, 2008 at the Holderness Library. The Library Building Team will be asked to meet with the trustees at 5:00 PM on July 15 at the Holderness Library.
