Meeting Minutes
March 11, 2003

MEMBERS PRESENT:
Mike O'Donnell, Earl Hansen, Bob Snelling, Joey Tuveson, Peter Webster

CALL TO ORDER:
Mike O’Donnell called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

BUSINESS:
Earl Hansen brought in a short rough draft of vision statement. Members looked it over and comments were made. It was decided that it needed more meat in it. Maybe take some from long vision statement that was submitted by Jeff Taylor and associates. Earl Hansen stated that the vision statement should be short and precise, but goals and objectives should be listed through out the master plan itself. Bob Snelling suggested the vision statement should be structured with four categories; Manmade, Environment, Cultural, and Economic. Earl Hansen said the vision statement should be structured like the Master Plan.

Earl Hansen read the town of Jackson’s vision statement. All members present really liked it. There was some discussion about fusing the long version from Jeff Taylor and Associates with Jackson’s vision statement. After much discussion it was agreed that members would take the town of Jackson’s vision statement home and edit as they wish and email it to Peter. Peter’s wife Kim will rewrite the vision statement.

Earl Hansen and Bob Snelling discussed their meeting with Jordan Institute on models used to determine economic growth.

Mike O’Donnell gives up chair to Earl Hansen.

Earl Hansen said the Planning Board will discuss how to proceed. Possibly divide Master Plan into chapters and propose committees for each chapter.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:21 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted
