3) Programs-
        • Hockey is going very well.
        • Family Skate was poorly attended.
        • Volleyball continues to go well.
        • Early Bird Exercise has a few more participants and is going well.
        • Remote Control Cars – Wendy had 4 very enthusiastic participants and she is hopeful that the
                enthusiasm will bring in others/
        • Skate With Santa had low participation due to the fact that is was a very snowy night. She will
                Try again next year.

4) Beach Update-
        •  Squam Docks, Inc.  has formally asked the Town if they can use the Town Beach as a staging
area to assemble and launch their large barge in late April or early May.  The discussion
concluded with us agreeing that we first needed to seek the opinion of Roger Larochelle
of the Squam Lakes Conservation Society which legally has title to the land.  It is felt by
the Recreation Board that the decision must be made between the SLCS and the Board of
Selectmen.  Wendy will discuss this with Walter Johnson and proceed from there.
5) Camp
        • The extended day program is a “go” as the staff are in favor of it.
        • Our program will be combing with the Ashland program for a number of field trips.
        • Wendy presented a rough draft of a color brochure that met with great favor by the Board.
        • Wendy mentioned that she would like to change the name of the program from the Day Camp
to Summer Escape.  The Board agreed that it is a good idea and may help us redefine the
                the program.
        • Wendy is working on securing a number of grants to support certain aspects of the Summer
Escape program.  She is continuing to explore the Tennis avenue for more support.

6) NEXT MEETING: Monday, February 16th  at 6:30 PM

Respectfully submitted,
George D. Sutcliffe, Jr. (secretary)
