Board Members Present: Robert Heiner, Martha Macomber, Wendy Mersch, Joseph Casey, Jonathan Stewart
Administration Present: Kathy Boyle, William VanBennekum
Others Present: none
On a motion by Dr. Heiner, seconded by Ms. Mersch, the Board entered into Public session at 6:00pm.
Agenda Review and Disposition
Discussion Items - The Board discussed and reviewed last year’s goals. After much discussion, it was decided that the Board would have a brainstorm session to decide new goals later on in the evening.
The Board reviewed the summary of strategic goals for 2005-2010. As they read the original objectives, it was decided that most of the objectives had been reached within the past three years. Several of the objectives are ongoing.
The Board volunteered for responsibilities for the 2008-2009 school year. Bob Heiner will be on the Technology committee and will do the newsletter. The budget committee liaisons will be Jonathan Stewart and Martha Macomber. Negotiators with the support staff will be Joe Casey and Wendy Mersch. The Community Center Committee members will be Wendy Mersch, Martha Macomber, and Jonathan Stewart.
The School Board brainstormed suggestions for new board goals and will finalize their suggestions at the next Board meeting.
William VanBennekum then addressed his goals for 08-09. At the next board meeting on October 6th, the agenda will include Mr. VanBennekum’s goals, the Board’s goals, a review of the handbook, and a study of Industrial Arts.
On a motion by Ms. Mersch, seconded by Dr. Casey, the Board voted to end public session and adjourn at 9:07pm.
