PROPERTY TAX RATE SET BY HOLDERNESS BOARD OF SELECTMEN

At a meeting of the Holderness Board of Selectmen held on Monday, October 26th, the Selectmen set a tax rate for 2009 of $12.96 per thousand of property value, down from last year’s rate of $13.18. As a result of added new property value, the town’s total net taxable assessed valuation increased over 2008 by $5,870,000. Tax bills were sent to all taxpayers on November 4th and payments are due no later than Monday, December 7, 2009.
The four components that make up the tax rate this year are as follows:

The total net amount of taxes committed by the Selectmen to Tax Collector Ellen King for the year is $8,889,442 on a town valuation for all taxable property within Holderness of $680,542,900.
This year all tax rates, with the exception of the State Education Tax, decreased significantly resulting in a total rate decrease of $ .22/1000.
