Re: Holderness Veterans Honor Roll

The Mt. Livermore Grange # 288 of Holderness, NH has been engaged for the past eleven years in research to determine Holderness Veterans of Wartime service. We are now in the final stage of the project. The result is a list of men and women proven to have been a resident of Holderness when they entered the service and to have served at least one day during wartime. The list will soon be furnished to the town of Holderness to be included on a new Veterans Honor Roll that the town is going to erect. Also a list of names that residency or military service or both have not been verified is routinely updated on the town website (see links above).

We have been reaching out to the residents of Holderness and any other interested parties who have assisted in providing names and information on men and women who meet the established criteria for inclusion on the Honor Roll. In this last hour of the project we urge everyone to review the two lists and check for correct spelling, middle initial or any denotation of Jr. or Sr.  as is appropriate. If you can provide any information, especially to help us resolve persons on the unconfirmed list, please contact Edward R. Ford, Master of the Mt. Livermore Grange # 288 as soon as possible in order to assist with completion of this important documentation task.

Information about the project can be found at the town of Holderness, NH website. Hard copies are posted at the Holderness Town Hall, Holderness Free Library and the bulletin board inside the Holderness Post Office.

Mt. Livermore Grange # 288 would like to thank all the townspeople and others who have contributed to the Honor Roll project in the past. Contributions are welcome anytime. Checks should be made out to Holderness Historical Society, note Veterans Honor Roll on the memo.
